Hi there. Welcome to Netherlands v Pakistan game.
Toss: Pakistan have chosen to bat. They need to
win by 25 runs to go through.
Younis: "It looks a hard pitch. If we can score 180-190,
it will be hard for them."
Smits: "We will take the confidence out of our previous
game. We saw Pakistan play on Sunday. We are confident."
Jeremy Coney says the pitch is well grassed, slightly
damp. He reckons there should be good pace and bounce.

Pakistan : 1 Salman Butt, 2 Kamran Akmal, 3
Shoaib Malik, 4 Younis Khan (capt), 5 Misbah-ul-Haq, 6 Shahid Afridi, 7

Netherlands: 1 Jeroen Smits, 2 Alexi Kervezee, 3

Dann sends in the first feedback of the day: "Fair
enough Pakistan prefer batting first. They didn’t chase well last time.
However. Given they need to win by 25+runs, or they need to successfully
chase within 17ovs, I am surprised they chose to bat. They need to bowl
well, and knowing your target for 17ovs must be "easier" than not knowing
what target you need to set. If they lose early wickets trying prematurely
to up the pace, and therefore end up losing, I will chalk this down as an
own goal."
Andrew McGlashan, our man at the ground, says: "Ground
is probably about half full, but I’m sure supporters from both sides will
make plenty of noise when the action starts."
As the Anthems play out, Carl is on something it seems:
"Hi there, slight tangent already but my friend tells me that there is an
international ground in Holland with a tree on the pitch. Does anyone know
if this is true please? If so what happens if you hit the tree? Is it an
unfair advantage to Pakistan that there is no tree on the pitch?" Too much
Durban Poison Carl?!
Sheri: "very surprised to see salman but again in the
team they should beter with ahmed shezad. Butt is not good in field and also
sloopy in field. It’s better if they chose to field first."
Zee: "I completely agree with dann. Younus should have
chose to bowl first in this way they have a target and they can adjust their
batting line up according to that. Other thing is that they again chose
salman butt as a operner holland can easily use the same tactics which
england did against him…. bad choice."

Saeed Ajmal to Nannes, OUT,
Another stumping from Akmal. It was another lovely little doosra from Ajmal,
who has really impressed today. Nannes had walked into the shot and was
beaten by the delivery that broke away. He must have thought that he was
bowled as he didn’t initially try to get back. Akmal had not collected
cleanly but recovered quickly to break the stumps. nannes turned back only
after that. Too late.

Umar Gul to Seelaar, OUT,
And Pakistan go through to the next round in style. What a Dutch
capitulation this has been. Gul cleans up the leg stump. The crowd roar.
Netherlands played well against England but couldn’t repeat the trick today.
Pakistan didn’t allow them. Their spinners, Ajmal and Afridi in particular,
were fantastic. As some of you have mailed in, Kamran Akmal now has the most
stumpings in a T20.

Smits: "We didn’t have a good day. Afridi was
outstanding. That’s what we said in the morning, we had to fear Afridi and
he did it. Our bowling was ok but it was too much for us. Congrats to
Pakistan. It’s a privelege to be here and we made some impact on Friday
night. "
Younis: "It was all about partnerships today. I thought
180 and 190 should be good. We wanted to be positive and so we batted first.
The spinners- Afridi and Ajmal- bowled really well.
Man of the Match Kamran Akmal: "T20 is a fun
game. Everybody is practising fours and six. we got good partnerships going.
I am very happy with the wicketkeeping. I have worked very hard on it."
